Himalayan Helping Hand, established as a non-government, non profit voluntary social organization, is duly registered with the Nepalese government and social welfare council of Nepal.

Nepal is multi-caste, multi-language, multi-cultural, landlocked and developing country where nationwide 72% of the adult population are illiterate and 86% of the Nepalese women cannot read and write. This has severe implications on women’s reproductive health and on the health of the children that they bear. Improvement in literacy status, access to knowledge and primary health care service together with an increase in economic status seems to be a basic formula for improving the life of women and children. With this understanding HHH Kavre has initiated women’s literacy programs through out Kavre District. It provides three levels of literacy classes targeting 15-49 years old.
