Inspired by Swami Vivekananda, Mr.Rajesh Kothwal was moved by the plight of the abandoned, even in hospitals. Through the Indian Red Cross Society he trained as nurse and began to provide basic hygiene, medical care, food,and clothing to enable destitute patients (many with terminal diseases) to lead life with dignity. After more than a decade of self-less service,in 2010, he registered Bharathi Memorial Foundation and set up a shelter,in the outskirts of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Today, the shelter takes care of around 70 destitutes including 14 children. |
